Free Basic English as a second language classes are being offered at Lone Star College Tomball. The classes are for immigrant adults who do not speak or read English as their native language. The program has beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The courses focus on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills needed for everyday life in the United States. Students must be assessed BEFORE entering the program and MUST attend the first week of class before they are enrolled. MANDATORY assessment and registration will be held from August 17-19 in the morning from 9am to 12pm or in the evening from 6pm - 9pm. The classroom for the assessment has not yet been assigned. I will post that as soon as I get that information. The classes are held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays from August 31 - December 9 and are offered in the morning from 9am to 12pm or in the evening from 6pm - 9pm. These classes have limited seating and fill up fast.
If you know of someone who would benefit from these classes please let them know they are available. For more information they can call the Tomball Continuing Education office at 281-357-3676. Spanish speakers are available to help.

Welcome to the Tomball Library ESL Blog!
Welcome to our new blog! I hope to be able to post information that will be of interest to both tutors and students and to keep everyone up to date with what is going on at the library. I look forward to your comments and encourage any suggestions you may have to offer.
